Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow!!!! Love!! I own the polk r 700's And love them. Later I decided to try out a second pair of polks in a another room. And went with the XT 70s , all I can say is wow .!! . I love my 700's . but the XT 70s come awfully Dang close . the Sound is amazing for the price and value ratio you get with these! They seem a little bit more cheaply built . But the sound quality Is right up there to me. Love my polks!!!!

I am trying to do a surround system with just 2 speakers and a subwoofer, I have a Polk subwoofer and I am wondering if adding these will create a good surround system as I am on a budget.

Is the base removable?

Hello, the base is not removable as the bass radiators are pointing downwards and require the base to allow for the movement of air and dispersion of low end frequencies.

Would 2 of these work with a Yamaha RX-V4A AV receiver? Any modifications or additional equipment needed? The 5.2 receiver is rated at 80w per channel @ 6ohms. Thanks

How do you bi-amp the XT70? I only see 2 binding posts, don't you usually need 4 for bi-amping, or am I missing something new?

Hello, You will have to forgive us for this information glitch (which we will be fixing very soon). The XT70 loudspeakers are - as you have correctly observed - not able to support more than one pair of speaker wires per speaker. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

The Polk Audio XT70 speakers should pair well with a 200-watt amplifier. Please note that the XT70 speakers are not wireless and require a speaker wire connection.
