Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect balance We recently moved and decided to downsize our audio system so we sold our huge speakers and amplifier. I started researching soundbars with wireless subwoofers. So many options and most with very high prices. I finally whittled it down to two options. This Polk and a JBL option. The JBL had a bigger sub and I thought it would blow this Polk away. We found both at a local Best Buy and decided to test them both out. Tried the JBL first and honestly was not impressed. The sub and mid bass were muddy and the highs were too brittle. When we tried the Polk it was night and day. I’m not claiming the sub blew me away. It didn’t. It drew me into the soundscape and I found myself listening to near perfect balance of highs miss and lows . It was almost like our $4500 multi speaker system. If you are looking to make a big impact on your movie night this is the way to do it without taking out a loan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible clean sound I tested it on an eBay store and couldn't believe the clearest soundbar in the store. Pros Subwoofer is not drowning on high volumes. great for classical or rock music. I can feel DTS and Dolby, it should be connected through eARC HDMI This soundbar is the only one with aux in feature within this price range and has Dolby (aux is a must for me) Movie, conversation, music mode along with conversation level, that's great feature if you have a baby and still have time to watch movies when he/she sleeps Cons: If your area is larger than ~ 400sqft, I definetly recommend max model. The remote control could have been a better design

Questions

I have an Amazon TV (made by TCL) and it randomly disconnects from the Signa S4 while I am watching OTA TV. There is no pattern to it that I can discern, and I cleared the soundbar settings on the TV and re-installed soundbar to the TV, still happens.

When I turn up the volume by one click it goes up by a lot and is hard to find a good volume, especially at night. OLED tv connected via earc. Any way to fix this? Your command bar is not as sensitive

Asked by: Phil14
Hello, we may require a bit more information to answer your question. However, I assume you are using the Television remote with eARC. If this is the case, the Television is operating the Volume increments, and there is no way to adjust this. Using the Soundbars remote can help provide fine volume adjustments. For further assistance, please reach out to our product support team directly by calling 800-377-7655 (Product Support) Mon - Sun: 9AM - 9PM EST - https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/contact-us.html

If you are using a Roku stick what is the best way to connect both the soundbar and the Roku stick to the TV. I want to use only one remote my preference is the Roku remote. I know HDMI provides the best sound.

Asked by: Pk205
Hello, We would recommend that you connect the soundbar via your TV's HDMI eARC port or ARC port if it does not have eARC and then the Roku to another HDMI port on the TV. This will allow the TV to transmit the audio signal to the sound bar and with CEC you should be able to control the volume and power for the sound bar. Please note for any sound adjustments you wish to make on the sound bar, like bass or treble, you will still need the sound bar remote to control those settings.

Hello, will this soundbar decode signal with ARCHdmi or is it especially intended to use with eARC only,,???

Asked by: Ronl
Hello, This sound bar can be used with ARC only if that is all you have but it can work best with eARC. You will still get the sound bar to decode signals just fine with ARC.

Will the direct tv rc73 remote mute and adjust the volume on your signa s4d sound bar?

Asked by: TaBg
Hello, the Polk Audio S4D soundbar's volume and mute functions can be controlled in several ways. HDMI control function, Remote control preset function, or remote-control learning functions are available. HDMI control function is recommended if your television is equipped with HDMI CEC. Can I hook this up using RCA cables. I have a record player that only has RCA inputs and an auxiliary input

Asked by: Ol Boy
Hello, the Signa S4D does have an Analog 3.5mm input, if your record player has a built in preamp and can deliver the signal via a 3.5mm cable then you can use that. There are adaptors available that will use RCA connections to connect to your record player and then the other end will be a 3.5mm which can then connect directly to the back of the Signa S4D Otherwise you may have to look for an amp or receiver to deliver the signal to the sound bar using one of the inputs.

How does this work with a TCL  QLED and does it hook up Bluetooth to tv or use a HDMI wire

Asked by: Even Steven
Hello, If the TCL QLED TV has HDMI ARC it will work great with it. Most modern TVs do come equipped with that. While you could hook it up with Bluetooth, there may be some latency that is introduced via that method, we would highly recommend going the HDMI route for the best experience.
